Qwire had a fantastic concert on Sunday 24 November at Llewellyn Hall with over 90 Qwire singers conducted by Lachlan Snow and accompanied by Callum Tolhurst-Close.
'The Sound of Us : A celebration of Community in Song' was the culmination of the Out and About project featuring Good Vibes choir from Yass and Vocalocal and Voiceworx from Goulburn. Qwire members were also able to express their identities and stories of our community through song. Susan, Erin and Darcey introduced song brackets sharing personal stories about belonging, joy & pride.
In Act 1 Qwire sang: Still, Earth Song, Human Family, Find your people, Dog Days are Over, Grace Kelly, You will be found, Don't rain on my parade.
Act 2 featured the Out and About Project choirs singing : Always was, always will be (Combined choirs), Make your own kind of music (Good Vibes), A little bit of love (Combined choirs), I'll be there (Vocalocal), Oak and ash and thorn (Voiceworx), How can we know 'till we go (Combined choirs), One Voice (Combined choirs) with an encore of Love is in the air.
As this was Lachlan's last concert with us we had a lovely farewell in the Athanaeum as he handed over the baton to Callum as our new Musical Director for next year.
