Over 4 fabulous days and nights over 100 Qwire singers performed at the National Folk Festival as a featured artist to excited and appreciative audiences. We did 3 pop ups, opened for the Queer dance ball, had our own concert in the Scrumpy and competed in the Tina Turner 'Simply the best' song concert. We had the best time and sang our hearts out.
Lachlan Snow conducted with Karen Wilden assisting. For some of our gigs we were joined by GLUB as well as string musicians Karen Wilden on guitar, John Dobson & Roger Lee on violins, Jane Oliver on cello with Jem Allen on percussion.
Over the course of the Festival we performed : Always was always will be; Beds are Burning; From Little things big things grow; Hail! Smiling morn; Let love rule; Let the rainbow shine; Love is in the air; May I suggest; Morning. Tide; Over the rainbow and Simply the best arranged by Joe Twist.
